I hadn't painted in a few weeks because of travel and teaching, so I was literally itching to get to my paints. I'd just committed to sending two Colorado winter paintings to a gallery show there, so I decided to try a snowy scene just for practice. My goal was for the viewer to "feel the chill." The hardest part was stopping before I overworked it.
