Summer Red, White and Blue

Last summer my garden by the river was a profusion of these wonderful red poppies....I took many photos, but never painted them because I was sure they'd bloom again this summer. Not! In their place, however, have come these wonderful blue bachelor's buttons and some white yarrow. So I've put them together here with a patriotic twist---it is, after all July.
