Blanchissage

Several years ago I was in Les Hauts de Cagnes, near Nice on the French coast. I love this little hill town and have done many paintings from it. However, one sketch/photo I had from there kept calling out to me to paint it. But...the composition was difficult...dark, stark trees behind the buildings, and a boring paved road leading to the wonderful, interesting buildings. What to do? Voila! Eliminate. And here you see the result.
